Our Story

Reepham Antiques evolved alongside Butler and Castell, our well-established and respected restoration company, a few years ago. Before opening the new showrooms adjoining our original premises in Reepham, Norfolk, we had long been selling high quality and fine pieces of furniture to the trade. Now as antique dealers to all, our aim is to offer genuinely high quality, attractive and interesting items to a wider clientele.

Butler and Castell formed in 2001 and was born out of Griss and Butler. The new partnership was determined to extend their existing specialism - restoring carved and giltwood furniture - to include expert work on polished, painted, ceramic and glass surfaces. We are very proud of our passionate, highly skilled and dedicated team of restorers and conservators. We strive to reach the highest standards of conservation and restoration and to successfully resolve any project we undertake.

Our Experience

Starting at age 11, Graham has accumulated over 50 years’ experience and Nigel has a further 33 years, both working for international antique dealers, collectors, fine art organisations, museums and many other institutions.

Our highly experienced and dedicated team work hard to ensure the highest standards and most ethical approach to all commissions are achieved and maintained.

Specialists

Reepham Antiques offers 18th and 19th Century furniture to collectors and antique dealers worldwide; with a particular emphasis on English, European and ‘Grand Tour’ furniture, objects and works of art.

Butler and Castell offer the highest quality of craftsmanship. We specialise in the restoration of carved, gilded, painted and polished antique furniture. We also carry out cleaning and conservation on many other mediums. We collaborate with many other associated and accredited conservation specialists and restorers.

Please feel free to contact us to discuss any of our specialist skills in greater depth. We are always interested and pleased to discuss any particular conservation or restoration requirements.

House Calls

We undertake projects for historic houses, conservation and heritage groups including the National Trust which means we frequently travel across the United Kingdom to carry out the restoration, conservation and care of collections; also for the antique trade, private collectors, shipping companies and insurance groups. In most instances we can visit you to discuss requirements or undertake projects.

No Project Too Small or Too Large

We are happy to repair, clean or restore antiques of any age and condition -whatever their value. All conservation, restoration and reproduction projects can be undertaken. We can also make gilt reproductions to order. Where possible we are happy to provide Estimates for all projects.

Our workshop is sizeable, clean and secure. Our 70 years plus of experience in conservation and restoration for UK and overseas customers means we are associated with many of London and New York’s most prestigious antique dealers and collectors; and we are proud to offer the highest quality of service.
