Butler and Castell are renowned for their meticulous and careful approach to furniture restoration and conservation. Specialising primarily in carving and gilding, we also clean, preserve and restore original gilt-work as applied to wood, metal, glass or other surfaces.

Our conservation specialists and expert team of carvers and gilders use both traditional and modern techniques to clean, consolidate and stabilise surfaces; and always employ approved materials from the conservation list.

We possess an invaluable fund of knowledge, experience and expertise which enables us to research and undertake interior or exterior conservation projects and ultimately to provide the right solution.

Condition & Conservation Reports provided for all works undertaken; also Estimates for proposed works (including for insurance purposes).
