Organ Pipe Restoration

For church organ restoration we offer an alternative to oil gilding, using a unique water gilding technique on both wooden and lead organ pipes which in the majority of cases gives a greatly superior finish, Butler and Castell can also conserve and restore paintwork on organ pipes.

Large lead pipes need to be kept in an upright position to avoid any risk of distortion and our large and clean workshop has the space to accommodate these.

Estimates, Condition and Conservation reports (including copies for insurance companies) are prepared for all work we undertake. Our rates are very competitive.

The gilding of the organ pipes pictured was undertaken on behalf of Bower and Co.

We all understand the importance of our organ, so it was lovely to work with Butler & Castell because they really cared for and restored a much-loved instrument. Thank you all.
