Miniature portrait of Sir Thomas Hatton by Samuel John Stump POA
Miniature portrait of Sir Thomas Hatton by Samuel John Stump POA
A delightful, characterful miniature portrait by the renowned Miniature Portrait Artist Samuel John Stump, No7 Cork Street, London.
The portrait of the 8th Baronet Hatton depicts him in his latter years with the inscription on the back explaining the history of the Baronetage, ending with the death of his son in 1812.
The painting itself is of superb quality, the image was taken out of the frame for cleaning and adjustment which revealed the artist signature and stamp. This also showed the rough edges of the painting, showing the areas of paint to the sides where the artist had wiped his brush during the painting process.
This really is a portrait to treasure.
